On Thursday, Chandler mayor Kevin Hartke praised his community as a “city of innovation” at the annual State of the City event.
Hartke touted the city’s strengths, including the educational opportunities granted to residents. He also announced that Grand Canyon University would be “expanding its footprint” there.
“One of Chandler's greatest strengths has been our highly educated population. Over the years, we have seen educational attainment levels continue to increase in our community," he said.
Hartke also recognized successes in other areas, including Chandler maintaining one of the lowest crime rates in 35 years and administering over $8.2 million in rental assistance.
