Artist Granville Carroll explores identity and representation in photography

Conversations about representation have been taking place in lots of areas of society, from politics to business to the arts.

It’s something Granville Carroll has been thinking a lot about.

Carroll is a visual artist and an assistant teaching professor at Arizona State University. He’s developed and is teaching a class called Identity and Representation in Photography; he’s currently teaching it for the second time.

Carroll joined The Show to talk about the course and his work as an artist.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The story has been updated to clarify Granville Carroll's job title.
