Elvia Díaz: City Council runoff election could shape the future of south Phoenix

The Show regularly checks in with the Arizona Republic editorial board to talk about current issues facing the state and the region — featured in columns on the newspaper’s op-ed pages.

Early voting is underway in a pair of runoff elections for the Phoenix City Council in districts 6 and 8.

On Wednesday evening, the Arizona Republic Editorial Board is hosting a debate at South Mountain Community College between the two candidates in the 8th district — Kesha Hodge Washington and incumbent Carlos Garcia.

Editorial Page Editor Elvia Díaz joined The Show for her weekly appearance to talk about that contest what makes this race so interesting for the city.
