A winter storm continued to bring snowy conditions to northern Arizona over the weekend. Since Saturday night, Flagstaff reported about 10 inches of fresh snow. Another 3 to 5 inches was forecasted Sunday.
Temperatures Monday will reportedly will not be as cold — but still about 10 to 20 degrees below normal.
“So, it looks like the temperatures, roughly in the 30s for most areas above 5,500 to 6,000 feet. Some of the lower elevation areas could get to about mid-40s,” said Paige Swenson, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Flagstaff.
Yet another snowstorm is expected in Arizona’s high country. Officials are telling residents to prepare.
The National Weather Service predicts another heavy storm arriving late Tuesday and staying through Thursday. This storm comes on the heels of a storm last week’s weather that shut down most city and county operations around Flagstaff.
The National Weather Service’s Flagstaff forecast for Wednesday warns: "Very windy. Blowing snow. Snow showers. Snow may be heavy at times."
Those winds are expected to top 50 miles an hour and heavy snow accumulating up to a foot.
The Weather Service is warning that with visibility reduced to a quarter mile starting Tuesday, driving will be dangerous.
