Baseball returned to Arizona last weekend, with the opening of the Cactus League season.
Over 125,000 fans attended the first slate of games, according to league executive director Bridget Binsbacher.
“That was 18 different games and an average of 6,985 fans per game. So, that’s definitely up from 2019 which was the last normal season that we had," she said.
She said fans she talked to seemed to favor new rules — like a pitching clock — which are designed to speed up the game.
