Chef Charleen Badman is crazy about Arizona citrus — even the kinds you think you can’t eat

Citrus season here in Arizona is a sweet one — or maybe a sour one. And Charleen Badman is an expert in that realm.

Badman is one of Arizona’s most celebrated chefs. As chef and co-owner of Scottsdale’s Fnb, she brought home the James Beard Award for Best Chef: Southwest to Arizona in 2019. She’s also behind the Blue Watermelon Project, which works with school-aged kids to rethink their relationship with food.

Badman is crazy about Arizona citrus — even the kinds you think you can’t eat. The Show went down to her kitchen recently to get a taste of what she’s working with this citrus season.
