AZ dispensaries are working with poison control to keep marijuana edibles away from kids

Last year saw an increase in the number of pediatric poison control cases tied to cannabis-related products. Out of 739 total cannabis incidents, 394 involved children — and 60% of those cases involved a trip to the hospital.

In an effort to help curb these incidents, the Arizona Dispensaries Association and the Arizona Poison and Drug Information Center are announcing a new partnership to raise awareness about the potential dangers associated with accidental cannabis ingestion, particularly in children.

Eddie Celaya covers the cannabis industry and hosts the Here Weed Go! podcast for the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson. Joined The Show to talk about this initiative.
