SRP begins low-level releases on Verde River

It has been a rainy winter in Arizona, so much so that SRP’s reservoir systems on the Verde River are nearly full.

Throughout the month, SRP will be having low-level releases, which will flow and recharge the aquifer in the Salt River.

Officials say the extra water will also be given to cities and irrigation districts.

Usually the water levels are balanced–unlike the Colorado River system, which is facing a huge shortage.
