Arizona Legislature debates bills on doctors, early voting and time off for lawmakers

It’s expected to be another busy week at the state Capitol as floor debate and votes continue and committees start taking up bills from the other chamber.

This week, one bill up for debate deals with licensing doctors who are from other countries. This comes after Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed SB 1248, which would have eliminated one of the procedural hoops now required by health care professions seeking to expand their scope of practice.

Lawmakers are also considering changes to the state’s Active Early Voting List, as well as a bill that would require employers to give elected officials time off to serve in the state Legislature.

Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services joins The Show every Monday during the legislative session to talk about what to expect this week in the state Legislature.
