Accurate abortion data is difficult to collect, and it's a public health problem

Collecting accurate data about abortions in the United States has always been hard. Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, it’s even harder.

Mithani is data visuals reporter at The 19th, which focuses on covering gender and politics issues. She wrote a piece recently about the challenge of understanding the abortion landscape in America because of this data gap — and why it matters so much. The Show spoke with her about it.
