AZ bill would allow parents with concealed carry permits to bring guns on campus

A bill that would allow parents with concealed carry permits to bring firearms on campus passed the House Judiciary Committee.

Anne Thompson is with “Moms Demand Action.” Like other opponents of the bill, she says bringing guns onto campus is a bad idea.

“Among other places, they are prohibited in polling places on election day, detention facilities, secure areas of airports and airplanes, and most notably here at the Arizona House of Representatives,” said Thompson.

Committee chair Quang Nyugen says he sees the bill as supporting the Second Amendment right to carry a gun, and voted “aye.” The bill now moves to a vote by the full House.
