Rep. Greg Stanton will chair an immigration task force created by lawmakers calling themselves the New Democrat Coalition.
The group self-describes as solutions-oriented and focused on building bipartisan coalitions by challenging obsolete ways of governing.
Stanton’s new job is to push to pass immigration reform that creates a way for undocumented people with deep community ties to become U.S. citizens.
