The nomination deadline for Arizona Humanities’ Hands on Humanities Awards is rapidly approaching.
Since 1990, awards celebrating the humanities in a variety of ways including academic scholarship, community engagement, student or young professional leadership and K-12 education have been bestowed.
Speaking as part of the 2022 virtual awards ceremony, Arizona State University Dean of Humanities Jeffrey Cohen said, “The humanities have never been more important. [They] allow us to dream how the world can be better because of practical problem-solving skills we need in a world that’s full of crises to try to build things better, to try to imagine things better to find a way forward together.”
Nominations are open at visiting azhumanities.org/awards. The deadline is now March 31, previously extending it from March 17.
Categories include:
- Humanities public scholar.
- Friend of the humanities.
- Humanities rising star.
- K-12 humanities educator.
The K-12 Humanities Educator Award recipient will also receive $1,000.
