The Maricopa Association of Governments, known as MAG, has a new leader.
Former Phoenix City Manager Ed Zuercher is taking over as head of the regional planning organization, which deals with issues including transportation, homelessness and air quality.
He succeeds Eric Anderson, who’d been with MAG for almost 40 years, and had been executive director for the last five.
For now, Zuercher is managing executive director, and will take over as executive director later this year. He joined The Show to talk about this new role, including what appealed to him about taking this job.
