The Biden administration wants the Chinese owners of TikTok to sell the widely popular social media app or face a ban on it in the U.S.
And, in a rare moment of bipartisan agreement, Arizona Republican Rep. Paul Gosar approves the President’s position. “We can’t own something in China, so reciprocity back at ya. You can’t have something here,” he said.
Operating a subsidiary of an American business is permissible in China, provided foreign investment is incorporated in that country.
Gosar also cited U.S. overdependence on China in medical, energy and mineral industries.
