Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego will appear at the United Nations Water Conference in New York this week where she will discuss work done by the city to conserve water.
She’s also expected to attend the Urban Resilience and Heat Conference in Pennsylvania to present the city’s actions to combat oppressive heat conditions in the Valley.
In a recent appearance on PBS’s “Arizona Horizon,” Gallego discussed what she wants to take away from both events.
“We hope to learn the best practices from the top practitioners all over the world. We’re also very interested in companies and nonprofits that have solutions. We want Phoenix to be the leader in solving these challenges," she said.
The water conference is scheduled to begin March 22.
