Rain and cold temps are in the forecast; winter weather persists

Expect highs in the 60s and more rain this week as the winter weather continues to hold on.

Phoenix National Weather Service meteorologist Gabriel Lojero says expect the weather pattern to continue through the end of the month.

“We can see up to one to possibly as much as two to three inches of rain across the higher terrain north and east of Phoenix right through the Arizona high country," Lojero said.

Lojero says the rain is keeping temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below normal.

The added rain will also make an impact on the already flooding river beds; he says additional water releases, as you may have seen in the Salt River, will probably be needed.
