Lesko joins bipartisan chorus of lawmakers calling for limits on TikTok in U.S.

Arizona Republican Congresswoman Debbie Lesko is one of the latest to join a growing bipartisan chorus of federal lawmakers who want to limit or ban the social media app TikTok in the U.S.

Rep. Lesko cited the limits imposed by multiple countries already, two of which have a complete prohibition in place.

“All of these countries have banned TikTok on their government devices. India, in 2020, entirely banned TikTok from their country,” she said.

The other country with a total ban is Afghanistan. Many others have partial prohibitions.

Locally, the town of Fountain Hills banned the app on town-owned devices and servers in January.
