Spring weather is hitting the Phoenix area as the month of March comes to a close. Valley residents can expect sunny conditions as they enter the work week.
“Beginning on Monday, we’re still going to be looking at low 70s with mostly sunny skies, but then we’ll continue to warm up as higher pressure starts to set in so Tuesday, Wednesday we’re looking at high temperatures around 80 degrees in the Phoenix area with mostly sunny skies and overall light wind conditions," said Sean Benedict, lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service based in Phoenix.
Benedict also said some ongoing flood warnings are issued for the Salt River, Gila River, Verde River and Tonto Creek.
Making plans for the week? Warming up through midweek before the next weather disturbance sweeps through. Only a slight (15%) chance of very light rain Thursday, but certainly cooler the latter half of the week. Still, very nice #azwx for any outdoor activities this week. pic.twitter.com/FQtQMxleqL
