Flood warnings are in effect for the Verde, Salt and Gila rivers. They extend from the northeast to the east side of Phoenix all the way down to the Gila Bend and southwest Maricopa County.
Meteorologist Mark O'Malley with the Phoenix National Weather Service says this is because of the dam releases of water.
“The flood warnings have been in place since last week when the water started to be released. 99 percent of the population won’t even have any impacts whatsoever. This is mainly for just what’s on bridge crossings and the farmland that is adjacent to the rivers," O'Malley said.
The warnings are expected to continue at least through the end of the week.
