Hobbs signs legislation into law that helps forced-out mobile home residents

Bipartisan  state legislation that would offer immediate relief to residents forced from mobile home parks has been signed by Gov. Katie Hobbs.

The law increases financial assistance payments to displaced mobile home residents who are forced to move but can't afford to do so.

Republican Rep. Matt Gress was the bill’s primary sponsor.

“We know that hundreds of residents face an uncertain future in the coming days. This bill will provide immediate relief to many of those tenants as they need to relocate or find other housing," Gress said.

Residents in a Phoenix mobile home park, across from Grand Canyon University, are being displaced to make room for student housing.
