Arts nonprofits, cultural groups and individual artists can apply for Tempe’s community art grants programs.
There are a variety of awards for group performances, festivals, residencies and teachers.
Brendan Ross is the city’s deputy director for arts and culture and says art serves a vital role in community building.
“They elevate the quality of life in our communities. They give voice to our ideas and a way to express not only a sense of who we are, our place in the world and our identity, but also our aspirations as communities as well and to do that in imaginative and original ways,” he said.
The deadline to apply for multiple grants is June 1.
Prospective grant seekers will conduct a short conversation with Maja Aurora, Tempe community arts administrator, who will help them with their applications.
