ASU, UA, NAU ban use of TikTok on university-managed devices

Arizona State University is banning the use of TikTok on school-managed devices.

“TikTok will no longer be allowed to be installed on ASU-managed devices as the university takes steps following President [Joe] Biden’s recent order for federal contractors,” an ASU spokesperson said on Monday in a statement to KJZZ News.

The University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University say they’ve also complied, the schools said Tuesday.

The Biden administration — fearing for the safety of Americans’ personal data — wants the Chinese owners of TikTok to sell it or face a ban in the United States.

The change at ASU does not prevent students from using the app on their own devices while on campus.
