In the wide-open West, the Suns have a great shot at the NBA Finals

The Phoenix Suns open their first-round playoff series on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Suns are the fourth seed in the NBA’s Western Conference; the Clippers are No. 5.

Expectations for the Suns have been elevated since the trade deadline earlier this year, when they added Kevin Durant, but he has only played eight games since coming to Phoenix. The Suns won all eight of those games.

To talk about how deep into the playoffs the Suns might be able to play this season, The Show spoke Doug Haller of The Athletic.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
