While demand is down, gas prices are still up, especially in AZ

Demand for gas has dropped across the country but that doesn’t seem to be registering in prices at the pump, especially in Arizona.

The national average is about $3.64 a gallon, paling in comparison to some of Arizona’s prices. Julian Paredes is with AAA Arizona.

“So the Phoenix area, the current average is about $4.80. And that’s a rise of almost 19 cents from just last week," Paredes said.

There are multiple reasons for the high prices, one of which is OPEC’s decision to cut production.
