Residents in Carefree and Tempe will have an opportunity to exercise their voting power in two upcoming special elections on May 16.
Voters in Carefree will make decisions centered around fire and emergency medical services, and those in Tempe will weigh in on a proposed entertainment district featuring a new Coyotes hockey arena.
Monday, April 17 marks the registration deadline to participate in the elections. Mail-in-ballots go out to residents starting Wednesday. Anyone who wishes to return their mail-in-ballots must do so by May 9. And voters can also drop them off at drop boxes and voting locations until the evening on Election Day.
In-person voting begins a week before Election Day as well.
Voting sites and drop box locations can be found on the Maricopa County Elections Department website.
