Gov. Katie Hobbs broke the record Tuesday for most vetoes in a single session, beating out the last Democratic governor Arizona has seen, Janet Napolitano.
Her total now sits at 63 bills vetoed after adding 11 more to her tally Tuesday. She’s struck down bills that would have done everything from further limiting abortion in the state to allowing guns in more places to making it harder for people to vote in our state.
Given all of the headlines surrounding this record, it might be hard to believe that, at the same time, Hobbs and top GOP lawmakers have been privately negotiating a budget that just might have a hope of passing.
