A journalist spoke with hundreds of teachers about growing hostility from parents

Arizona has had a challenge finding enough teachers to fill classrooms for several years.

Data from earlier this year show a quarter of teacher vacancies statewide were unfilled, while more than 40% of openings were filled by teachers who don’t meet the state’s standard requirements for certification.

But these challenges are not unique to Arizona. Alexandra Robbins spoke to The Show about her latest book, “The Teachers: A Year Inside America’s Most Vulnerable, Important Profession.”

Robbins has spoken to hundreds of teachers around the country to learn about their experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
