Why Democrats stopped short of overriding Gov. Katie Hobbs' 'tamale bill' veto

The effort to override a gubernatorial veto for the first time since 1981  failed Monday at the state Capitol. House Republicans could not muster the two-thirds majority needed to override Gov. Katie Hobbs'  veto of the so-called “tamale bill.”

The measure would have expanded the kinds of foods that could be sold that were prepared in home kitchens. Some Democrats did vote to override the veto — but not enough, as the effort fell five votes shy.

To talk about this, as well as some historical context for why the legislature is shorthanded, Jeremy Duda of Axios Phoenix joined The Show.
