The country’s southern border is often in the news for what’s going on at that moment, but Randall McGuire tries to take a longer view of the area.
McGuire is an archaeologist at the State University of New York at Binghamton, but did his graduate research at the University of Arizona. Before that, McGuire was working on archaeology in the Sonoran Desert. He’s been studying the region for decades.
The Show talked to McGuire about one of the big issues recently along the U.S-Mexico border: walls. He talked about what can be learned from the experiences of other countries who’ve put up border walls to relate to what we’re seeing now — and what we may see going forward on our southern border.
