Record number of international travelers expected in 2023. Here's how to prepare

Looking to fly overseas soon? If so, you should examine your plans closely as the U.S. State Department projects the international travel season to be record-breaking.

On the heels of that announcement, AAA Arizona spokesperson Julian Paredes has some additional advice.

“One of the biggest things people need to know is that there have been a lot of delays for passport renewals. Even expedited passport renewals have seen some delays so if you do plan to travel internationally in the next year, you definitely want to get that renewed as soon as possible," he said.

Paredes also said the government has programs, like the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, which keep people informed about their travel destinations. According to Paredes, an international driving permit should be considered if travelers want to drive while abroad.
