The doctor in charge of Yuma's hospital is nervous about the end of Title 42

The Biden administration is expected to end the policy known as Title 42 next Thursday. Yhe pandemic-era rule allowed immigration officials to turn away migrants more quickly, without giving them the chance to seek asylum.

Once that rule goes away, many experts anticipate a new wave of migrants coming across the border, seeking asylum here. As part of its response, the feds have said they’d send 1,500 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Earlier surges have strained service providers, including Yuma Regional Medical Center, which is bracing for what’s to come next week and beyond.

The Show spoke with Dr. Robert Trenschel, the hospital’s president and CEO, on what he’s been seeing over the past weeks and months.
