What a proposed change to federal regulations could mean for land conservation

A proposed change in federal regulations aims to "guide the balanced management of public lands," according to the Bureau of Land Management. And it appears that would mean more conservation on those federal lands.

To help explain, The Show spoke with Jonathan Thompson, a freelance journalist who often writes about the American West. He’s also the author of the Land Desk newsletter on Substack.

The conversation started with the thumbnail version of what this proposed rule change would do.
