Firefighters have contained 60% of a wildfire burning south of Wickenburg.
Since Thursday, the Cloud Fire has scorched nearly 900 acres near the city northwest of the Valley and spread through desert vegetation. According to the state forestry service, the fire was human-caused. However, the ignition source is unknown at this time.
State forestry spokesperson Tiffany Davila said the fire posed no major risk as of Saturday morning.
“There’s no cause for alarm. There’s no structures threatened. There were never any evacuations, so there really is no cause for anyone to be concerned at this point," she said.
Davila said the fire is not as extreme as when it first began. Updates on fires across the state can be found on the state forestry’s social media.
