The Legislature is on recess until mid June. Republican House Speaker Ben Toma says not all 31 Republican representatives can be present at the Capitol until June 12.
That would mean the GOP would not have a majority in the 60-member state House.
Lawmakers have taken multiple breaks since January. Toma says the break could provide an opportunity for negotiations on stalled issues.
One is whether to extend the 20-year half-cent sales tax for transit for Maricopa County.
