A political action committee opposing Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has filed a complaint against her with the Federal Election Commission.
Change for Arizona 2024 PAC filed the complaint to investigate whether the lawmaker’s spending violates the law, alleging the use of campaign funds for personal reasons.
Luis Avila is a senior adviser with the group.
"We thought that we had to call attention to this, and the vehicle we have as citizens is to file a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission and to, you know, notify them about the problems that we see with her expenses," Avila said.
A spokesperson for the senator said the allegations were not true.
"There’s no standing here, and Kyrsten remains laser focused on delivering lasting solutions to the challenges we face – including addressing our border crisis and ensuring Arizonans are protected from a national default," a Sinema spokesperson said.
Sinema has not announced a campaign for reelection.
