Major League Baseball's 2023 rule changes have resulted in shorter games, higher scores

We’re now more than a quarter of the way into the 2023 major league baseball season; the Diamondbacks are in second place in the National League West division — a game and a half behind the Los Angeles Dodgers and eight games above .500.

The timing also means we have about 50 games worth of data to see how the new rule changes are working out — the pitch clock, bans on defensive shifting and bigger bases.

The Show spoke with Jay Jaffe, senior writer for independent baseball analysis site FanGraphs, about how those changes are affecting games.
