MCCCD board approves ballot measure asking to raise spending limit

Maricopa County Community College District's Governing Board has approved a resolution that looks to refer a measure to next year’s ballot; that measure would ask voters to raise the limit that the district can spend before being penalized.

Similar to the spending cap for K-12 schools that’s been the subject of negotiations at the Arizona Capitol over the past couple of years, the community college district also faces a cap on spending, although there are some differences.

The Show spoke with Marie Sullivan, president of the Maricopa Community College District Governing Board, about what the expenditure limit means for the district.
