A small fire that’s burned for nearly a week outside of Sedona is still spreading.
The Miller Fire was reported last weekend and is now covering 35 acres. Forest Service officials said Friday it is moving slowly but is also challenging firefighters because of the steep cliffs and rocky terrain.
A closure order is now in place for the area, including the Secret Mountain Loop trails.
Officials expected light smoke to sit over Sedona from the fire. A second fire near the Mogollon Rim is being allowed to burn away forest debris. Meanwhile, a one-acre wildfire sparked by lightning is burning about 16 miles west of Flagstaff.
