State agency nominees, transit tax extension on tap for the Legislature this week

It will be one more week before state lawmakers come back to the Capitol to resume their session, although some work is being done in the interim.

The state Senate committee created to vet Gov. Katie Hobbs’ picks to lead state agencies is scheduled to consider another pair of nominees.

Meanwhile, the governor is working directly with the Legislature to reach a deal to let voters decide on an extension of Maricopa County’s half-cent sales tax to fund transportation projects.

And when will the Legislature adjourn its 2023 session?

For more, The Show turned to Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services.
