Train carrying new cars derails in northern Arizona

A BNSF freight train traveling through northern Arizona derailed, Coconino County officials said Thursday morning.

In a Facebook post, Coconino County Emergency Management said a total of 23 train cars derailed just east of Williams around midnight.

Photos and video of the scene show heavily damaged train cars. Officials said the trains were carrying new cars, vans and trucks.

There were no injuries or fatalities, the agency said.
