An Arizona Senate panel unanimously voted Thursday to recommend confirmation of Gov. Kate Hobbs’ pick to lead the Arizona Department of Real Estate.
Republican Susan Nicolson has about 30 years of experience in real estate. She told the panel that she’ll revive small-business education while supporting first-time homebuyers.
“If you work hard, save your money, do things to prepare yourself, then you can own a home. And home ownership is the number one contributing factor to generational wealth in America," said Nicolson.
Nicolson was the second agency head to be recommended for confirmation this week. The appointments of both Nicolson and Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry Director Ryan Thornell must now go to a full Senate vote.
