Valley Metro has a new chief transportation officer.
Michael Pal started the job in May, and one of the first things he did was ride the entire light rail — from start to finish.
It’s par for the course for a guy who started as a bus operator in Brooklyn and worked his way up through New York’s transportation union to be assistant general manager of the State of New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
In Minneapolis, where he worked just before coming to the Valley, his goal was to ride every bus line in the city. He believes in managing from the ground up — just like his career has gone. He joined The Show to talk about it.
