AZ Legislature passes bill for parents to have access to teacher training materials

The Arizona  House of Representatives passed a bill that would require schools to give parents access to teacher training materials. Mesa Republican Justin Heap says he sponsored the bill because parents should know if teachers are discussing concepts he says are evil, like “critical race theory.”

Democrat Judy Schwiebert said that information is already available and already vetted by school districts.

“This bill is one more example of demonizing our schools and our teachers,” Schwiebert said.

Gov. Katie Hobbs is likely to veto the measure, which passed on a party-line vote of 31 to 29.
