National Weather Service issues fire weather watch in Flagstaff

The National Weather Service based in Flagstaff issued a fire weather watch as a result of intense conditions.

The watch, which applies from Saturday to Monday, identifies strong winds and low relative humidity occurring all throughout Monday.

A combination of the two can cause fire to quickly expand before first responders can contain the blaze. Areas impacted range from Buffalo Pass to the Tonto National Forest.

Winds are forecasted to be 20 to 30 miles per hour with gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour.
