Elvia Díaz and Phil Boas: Why the left is looking at Trump’s former Attorney General Barr

There have been times in recent U.S. history in which those on the left have vilified William "Bill" Barr, former attorney general under Presidents Donald Trump and George H. W. Bush. One big one was, of course, in the wake of the Mueller report on Russia’s attempts to interfere in the 2016 election on behalf of then-candidate Trump.

But now, in the wake of more unprecedented news about former President Trump, that he has been indicted on federal charges over his handling of classified documents, the left is looking at Barr a little differently. That’s because, now that he’s not working for the Trump administration, he is calling on Republicans to wake up when it comes to the Trump indictment.

“If even half of this is true,” he said, "Trump is toast.”

This is what Arizona Republic columnist Phil Boas calls the kind of "independent thinking" we all need. And, he says, "if liberals like what Barr had to say about Trump, they should take a look at what he had to say about things like Jan. 6."

Boas joined editorial page editor Elvia Díaz and The Show to talk more about it.
