Phoenix police in the process of creating new use of force policy

The Phoenix Police Department is in the process of creating a new use of force policy. Public comment on the latest draft of the policy ended this past Friday.

The department expects to start training on the new policy in the fall, and make it live by the beginning of next year.

The Show spoke with Phoenix Police Chief Michael Sullivan about the policy so far and what the department has heard from residents. Sullivan took over the position almost a year ago.
