Nearly 100 Arizona residents become citizens on July 4

About 100 Arizona residents are becoming United States citizens on Tuesday. 

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services spokesperson Ana Santiago says July 4 is a day of celebration for multiple reasons, including the oath of citizenship 

“That’s a very emotional moment. It happens early on during the ceremony. Everyone is asked to stand and raise their right hand," Santiago said.

These Arizona residents being sworn in at this annual Phoenix ceremony — come from dozens of different countries including Mexico, South Korea and the UK.
