The National Weather Service says Arizona’s excessive heat warning will extend through Friday. Temperatures will top 110 degrees.
Jessica Leffel is a meteorologist. She says the warning also applies to northern cities like Flagstaff.
“Even though their thresholds might be different based off of their population and their location and different terrain features, they are still seeing temperatures that are outliers for this time of year,” Leffel said.
Leffel advises people to drink water, wear sunscreen and take breaks in the shade.
