Study says number of head impacts, not concussions, a better predicter of CTE in football players

A new study on chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, finds the number of hits to the head and the cumulative impact of them is more predictive of someone developing the disease than the number of diagnosed concussions.

Researchers looked at the brains of 631 former football players and used data going back two decades to reach their conclusions.

The Show spoke with Dr. Glynnis Zieman, director of the Barrow Brain Injury and Sports Neurology Center at Barrow Neurological Institute, about the main takeaways from the study.
